FAQ's
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
What areas do you cover?
I live in Farnham and cover a reasonable area from home. Please enquire if unsure.
Is there a collection/delivery charge?
Collection/delivery is FREE within my local zone (please see My Local Zone) at mutually convenient times. There is a charge of £1/mile travelled outside this area.
You may also pick up/drop off to me at home in Farnham.
Are you licenced and insured?
Yes. I am fully insured and hold a 4 star Dog Home Boarding Licence from Waverley Borough Council.
I hold a MOD permit for walking at Caesar's Camp and Hankley Common.
I am also dog first aid trained and hold an Ofqual Level 2 certificate in Canine Care and Welfare.
Will my dog be happy with you?
I will meet you and your dog for a mutual assessment and to discuss your requirements. Ahead of your dog's first stay with me, I will have them over for as many visits as needed for them to be comfortable and settled in my home.
How many dogs stay with you at one time?
I am licenced for up to 6 dogs for home boarding and I am insured to walk a maximum of 6 dogs.
I carefully blend the dogs and will not fill a space if it is at the expense of group harmony.
All the dogs that I look after are friendly and social. I do not accept mature entire males, even if they are easy-going, as in my experience they affect the balance of a group.
When does overnight dog care begin and end?
Overnight dog care runs from 6.00pm and ends at 9am the following morning. £1 per additional hour per dog.
What about doggy daycare?
Daycare runs for up to 8 hours with a flexible start time. A long walk is included in this time. £1 per additional hour per dog.
How are you different from a kennel?
Your dog will live with me at home and will be treated like I would my own.
Does my dog need vaccinations to stay with you?
Yes. Your dog must be up to date on the core vaccinations covered by their annual booster injection. Kennel cough is also mandatory. Please allow at least a week after vaccination before any stays with me, as it is a 'live' vaccine and some dogs may shed afterwards.
Worming and flea treatments should also be up to date.
What do I have to pack for my dog?
Please send your dog with his regular food and an item of bedding that smells of home or his own bed if he is particular.
I have a range of beds available and provide leads, bowls, poo bags, towels, treats, chews and toys.
How much exercise will my dog get?
As much as they require. Most dogs are happy with 1 long walk a day and play/socialising with others when at home. There is fabulous walking nearby such as Caesar's Camp, Frensham and Hankley Commons, all with swimming spots.
How do I pay you?
I will email you an invoice on your return, payable by bank transfer, cash or cheque.
